GALLERY

“I dream my painting, and I paint my dream.”
— Vincent Van Gogh

Artrium Gallery has been a part of the charity since 2011. It’s ran by a team of volunteers and holds regular exhibitions and events - offering a space for our members, volunteers and local artists to exhibit, promote and have the opportunity to sell their work.

We’re all about supporting local artists and their wellbeing. We believe there’s an artist in everyone.

Featured Artists.

Gary Bell.

Gary previously worked with Spit! Comics but has now branched out into creating digital art pieces capturing the qualities of some well-loved faces in the music, comedy and horror scene. His work is featured as prints, t-shirts and soon on coasters and mugs.

Shirley Carruthers.

The collection of work was hand drawn by Artrium member Shirley Carruthers using pen and ink. Many of her pieces depict visions she sees in her dreams; others relate to her background.

Digitally enhanced by artist Jake Smith.

David Coser.

A collection of pieces on display and for sale from founding member David. He is a nationally recognised photographer who took up the hobby just before lockdown. His work focuses on street photography in and around Hartlepool.

Kathryn Amanda.

Local artist Kathryn’s collection of paintings, pastel work and portraits is just a selection of her best pieces. She is currently exhibiting and selling her work in our gallery. She also takes commissions.

Matthew Arnold.

Matthew is a local man who creates sculptures out of naturally felled woods. His beautifully handcrafted work is created as a way to manage his PTSD. His work is for sale as well as exhibition and takes commissions.

Billy Smith.

Billy is a local artist who has worked with Artrium before during his time teaching with Prince’s Trust and also as a volunteer. His work on display and for sale features sights around Hartlepool and local areas. Timmy Mallet owns one of Billy’s photographs in his home.

McWhimsical Art.

Artwork created by McWhimsical is a mixture of paintings, homewares and furniture. It is both on sale and exhibition.

Christopher Charlton.

Longstanding member Christopher creates his sculptures from polymer clay and creates some amazingly detailed pieces that have their very own charm to them. Both exhibition and on sale.

Danny Short.

Local artist and volunteer of Artrium Danny is exhibiting some of his amazing and dreamlike sculptures with us in our gallery, some for sale.

His work focuses around dreamscapes and mythos to create the fantastical creations.
